Jeanne Baxtresser Flute Masterclass and Workshop
Atlanta Flute Club members experienced a wonderful day with Jeanne Baxtresser at our Spring Event held at the beautiful Sara D. Williams Fine Arts Center of Greater Atlanta Christian School. Atlanta Flute Club, Greater Atlanta Christian School and Nagahara Flutes all sponsored this memorable Flute Masterclass and Workshop. The class began with a lecture on Audition Preparation and Learning to Enjoy Performing.
In the Orchestral Excerpts Masterclass that followed flutists, Hally Davidson, Kelley Dixson, Katherine Isbill, Briana Oliver and Jordan Paul Sera received thoughtful instruction and demonstration from Ms. Baxtresser on playing these excerpts in audition and performance.
The afternoon sessions included a lecture and demonstration on Tone and Vibrato—Lyricism and Line; Solo Repertoire Masterclass with performers Erin Fleming, Micah Layne, Kelly Saroff, and Mitchell Yaksh, accompanied by Leanne Hermann on piano; and lectures titled How to Practice Effectivelyand Learning to Become a Great Student.
The Workshop closed with a question and answer session. Thank you, Ms. Baxtresser for graciously sharing with us what has helped you throughout your career.
